Since joining Big Picture Learning as Chief Communications Officer in March 2015, Chris has leveraged his background in public policy and creative writing to elevate the organization's narrative and amplify its impact across diverse platforms.

Chris's communications journey has been shaped by curiosity, innovation, and a commitment to authentic storytelling. With a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Colorado and an MA in Public Policy, he marries the art of language with analytical precision. His expertise spans strategic communications, graphic design, social media, crisis management, and public relations—skills honed during his time at the Council for Aid to Education and Reading is Fundamental, where he championed assessment and literacy initiatives.

Widely recognized as a thought leader in the education and nonprofit sectors, Chris has presented at national conferences, contributed to key publications, and advised organizations on crafting mission-driven, equity-centered communications strategies. As a member of Big Picture Learning's national team, Chris remains committed to advocating for innovative, student-centered learning while navigating the complexities of messaging in an increasingly polarized climate.
