Chris Jackson joined Big Picture Learning as the Chief Communications Officer in March 2015. Much like students from within the Big Picture Learning network, this path was driven by a pursuit of independent learning and an exploration of curiosity.
You see, Chris holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Colorado, which certainly helps with the words part of communications. But his Masters Degree in Public Policy isn’t really what ended up honing his graphic design, social media and other comms chops. Previous to Big Picture Learning, Chris worked in assessment at the Council for Aid to Education and children’s literacy at Reading is Fundamental – both places which stressed an entrepreneurial spirit and a “learn by doing” disposition. It’s of little surprise then that Chris ended up on the national Big Picture Learning team!
